Throughout my experience, I have found that the power of the therapeutic relationship is one of the most positive predictors of treatment outcomes and an essential component of therapy. Therefore, while using an eclectic and strengths-based approach in therapy, I also incorporate ideas of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational interviewing, and Solution-focused therapy (SFT/SFBT). I hold a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Anthropology from Montclair State University. My Master's degree in Social Work was obtained from Rutgers University with a concentration in clinical mental health counseling. I also hold an LCADC and I am OutCare certified as culturally competent in the care of the LGBTQ+ community.
For many years, I have worked with adults who have many different mental health issues in multiple settings, including agencies and hospitals. I have experience working with clients in voluntary and involuntary psychiatric settings, partial hospitalization programs, case management, and intensive outpatient programs. Additionally, I have outpatient experience working with children as young as three years old, teens, adults, and families with various issues, including family life problems, trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and many others. My goal throughout my career is to foster a safe and warm environment where people from different backgrounds can have their individualized needs met effectively in a short time.
