There are different types of support we can lean on in our lives when we are processing our past, working through hardships in the present, and looking to create goals for the future - seeking out therapy can be a great addition to your support “toolbox.” With my eight years of experience in the realm of social work, we can work together to develop skills that can help you navigate life’s ups and downs.

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Smith College and a Master’s of Social Work degree from Monmouth University. This education, along with a post master’s certification in Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF CBT) has paved the way for my clinical practice. I am certified as a Confidential Sexual Violence Advocate and will start training in EMDR this year. I am also OutCare certified as culturally competent in the care of the LGBTQ+ community.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and elders. Through my time working in residential programs and within community mental health I have provided individual, group, and family therapy. I have presented workshops on cultural competency training regarding LGBTQ+ older adults to various social service agencies within NJ, and pride myself on being an LGBTQ+ affirming clinician. I work within a trauma-informed framework and emphasize the concept of neuroplasticity, which is the brain's innate ability to create positive change. I also incorporate aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT),Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

Over the last decade, I have had an informal meditation practice, which has helped allow me to be a consistent and calm clinician, focusing fully on the present moment with undivided attention. It takes vulnerability and courage to make change; it is an honor to support those on the journey who are trying to adapt to life’s transitions.
