I strive to create a caring, compassionate environment as a professional psychotherapist. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation on which clients begin to feel their challenges are understood, their strengths nurtured, and they are supported to heal or encouraged to grow. Each client is unique; therefore, therapeutic, trauma-informed interventions are tailored to empower each individual.
I utilize an eclectic, holistic approach that is strength-based and solution-focused. I have experience working with all age groups. While my specialty areas of interest are grief/loss and couples therapy, I also see many clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma, relationships, and various other mental health issues. The evidence-based interventions I use include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and psychoeducation.
Previously, I have worked in various settings, including Veteran Affairs Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Joseph T. Quinlan Bereavement Center, school therapy, home therapy, and private practice. I have a Master of Social Work degree from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Social Work degree with a minor in Psychology from Rutgers University.
Each session is a safe place for all genders, ethnicities, abilities, religions, and sexual orientations. I am highly dedicated to providing culturally competent care while continuing my professional development, and staying current with the latest in my field.
