We often find ourselves wondering why we continue to struggle with the same problems, no matter what we do. As a Licensed Social Worker, my approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy and focuses on understanding not only what is happening, but why.
One of my favorite sayings is, “Every behavior is an attempt to meet a need.” Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors happen for a reason. They are often trying to tell us something, and therapy can help us better understand what that is.
My goal is not simply to put a Band-Aid on the problem or offer a quick fix. Instead, I help clients understand the patterns underlying their struggles so we can work together to create meaningful, lasting change. This may include exploring early life experiences, trauma, important relationships, emotional patterns, and unconscious beliefs that continue to influence how you think, feel, and respond today.
I provide a safe, collaborative, and judgment-free space for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, mood disorders, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and other emotional or behavioral challenges. Therapy is individualized to each client’s needs, personality, and goals.
When working with teens and adults, I draw from psychodynamic therapy and trauma-informed care to help uncover deeper patterns while incorporating practical coping strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). With younger children, I incorporate play therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy to create an engaging, developmentally appropriate environment where children can express themselves, develop coping skills, and build resilience.
I earned my Master of Social Work from Rutgers University, along with a certificate in Promoting Child and Adolescent Well-Being. My clinical experience includes behavioral therapy, school-based therapy, crisis counseling, and inpatient mental health care. These experiences have allowed me to work with individuals across different ages, backgrounds, and levels of need.
Whatever you are struggling with, you do not have to navigate it alone. If you are ready to better understand what lies beneath the surface, break unhelpful patterns, and create meaningful change, we can take that next step together.
